Atlantic Credit Unions Bursary Program

Atlantic Credit Unions offer 25 $1,000 bursaries for community college students in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. Applications are posted to the colleges’ awards pages. Application deadlines vary by school, so be sure to check with each college’s awards office.

Each college will be awarding four $1,000 bursaries, with 13 in Nova Scotia.

Student Awards MUN & MI

Public Service Credit Union has been contributing to charitable organizations and scholarships since 2012 and is proud to be a supporter of the Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland. Public Service Credit Union has established an award for students involved in the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Competition Team.

This award was established by a generous donation from the Public Service Credit Union. We are proud to be a supporter of the Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland. Valued at $500, an award will be given annually to an undergraduate student at the Fisheries and Marine Institute who has been accepted to participate on a Marine Institute team related to a marine field of study, such as but not limited to the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Competition Team.

The award will be granted based on academic merit to a student who has displayed leadership and dedication to the team. Preference will be given to a student within the School of Ocean Technology. Recipients must meet the minimum academic requirements for an award as defined by The Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland. This award will be granted by the Fisheries and Marine Institute Scholarship Committee upon Marine Institute Faculty nomination.

Student Awards Atlantic Credit Unions

Atlantic Credit Unions have been investing in programs and services across the Atlantic region since 2000, and are incredibly proud to support Memorial University of Newfoundland. We take great pride as credit union staff and members in giving back to those in our communities and these endowment funds are a direct embodiment of our values. We hope that these awards will inspire students to strive for academic success and give back to their communities in Newfoundland, while alleviating the huge burden of paying for post-secondary education for years to come.

This award was established by a generous donation from the Atlantic Credit Unions. Atlantic Central provides support to charitable and community programs in alignment with the values of our members throughout Atlantic Canada. Atlantic Credit Unions have been investing in programs and services across the Atlantic region since 2000, and are proud to support Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Valued at a portion of the income on the endowment, the award will be granted annually to a full-time student enrolled in a graduate program in the Faculty of Business Administration with a preference to those showing a demonstrated interest in social entrepreneurship. Recipients must meet the minimum academic requirements for an award as defined by Memorial University of Newfoundland. This award will be will be granted by the Dean, School of Graduate Studies on the recommendation of the Dean, Faculty of Business Administration.

Valued at a portion of the income on the endowment, the Award will be granted annually to a student who has completed the second year of the Bachelor of Nursing (Collaborative) Program at the Western Regional School of Nursing, and has displayed both academic ability and clinical competence. The recipient must meet the minimum academic requirements for an award as defined by Memorial University. This award will be granted by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards on the recommendation of the Director of the Western Regional School of Nursing.

This award was established by a generous donation from the Atlantic Credit Unions. Atlantic Credit Unions have been investing in programs and services across the Atlantic region since 2000, and is proud to support Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Valued at a portion of the income on the endowment the award will be granted annually to a full-time student enrolled in the Bachelor of Social Work Degree program. Preference will be given to a student who is completing a practicum in Labrador or to a student who has a particular interest in working with Aboriginal or northern communities. Recipients must meet the minimum academic requirements for an award as defined by Memorial University. This award will be granted by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards on the recommendation of the Dean, School of Social Work.

CU Financial Management Bursary Program

CUFM Connects is thrilled to announce the CU Financial Management Bursary Program launch! This program offers financial assistance to individuals seeking to further their education and professional development. There will be four $1,250 bursaries awarded to students in Atlantic Canada.

Co-operators Insurance Scholarship ($1,000)

Congratulations to Jenna Keats, recipient of the $1,000 Co-operators Insurance Scholarship. Jenna is a 1st year student at Memorial University. PSCU is pleased to partner with Co-operators Insurance in awarding this scholarship.

Public Service Credit Union Scholarship ($1,000)

Congratulations to Lauren McGrath, recipient of the $1,000 Public Service Credit Union Scholarship. Lauren is a student at Memorial University of NL and is the winner of the award that was selected by a Committee of the Board. The PSCU scholarship was created in 2019 and will be an annual scholarship offered by PSCU in August each year. Lauren is the recipient of the 2021 and the 2019 PSCU Scholarship.
